Practice Speaks and Exhibits at California’s Largest Green Building Conference

In support of our commitment to sustainability and environmental innovation, Practice sponsored, exhibited, and two staff members spoke at the 2024 USGBC-CA Green Building Conference on May 23, 2024. The day-long conference represents the largest gathering of sustainability advocates in the state.

The firm’s Director of Sustainability Casey Castor led a discussion on Industry Pain Points in Emerging Building Technologies as part of the morning line-up. The topic focused on the rapidly evolving landscape for building technologies and the policy barriers start-up company founders are navigating.

In the afternoon Partner Greg Kochanowski, AIA, ASLA led a session on Nature-Based Approaches to Wildfire Mitigation in the Built Environment, exploring underlying causes and opportunities to address risk in urban contexts.

For the speakers and other firm attendees, which included Partner Staci Nesbitt, AIA, LEED AP, and newly welcomed Ismar Enriquez, AIA, LFA, LEED AP, the event was an opportunity to support the firm’s commitment to a sustainable future through design, and to showcase community-driven work centered around equity, inclusion, and justice.
