Practice Adds New Education and Housing Team Members

Late 2023 and early 2024 brought new employees to the Practice family, including design and management staff for education and housing projects. Practice has been thrilled to welcome Sandra Chen, Austin Richards, Isa Mattia, Arpine "Arpi" Sardarian, and Ismar Enriquez.

Sandra Chen's tenure with Practice began in October 2023. Her technical expertise and experience in both landscape and architectural disciplines translate to rich, multi-layered solutions for our clients, and her attention to detail and systems knowledge has been a boost for our internal processes.

Project Designer Austin Richards joined the firm in January 2024, bringing more robust people-power to our design development and production efforts. Licensed architect Isa Mattia joined in March as a natural team-builder with expertise in education and a passion for community and service, Her skills on the firm’s K-12 projects as well as engagement with non-profits have been an exciting addition.

Project Captain Arpi Sardarian and senior designer and leader Ismar Enriquez joined Practice in April. Arpi's skills in the design and delivery of education projects are helping to propel Practice forward to deliver school designs that advance the inclusion, sustainability, and community-building goals of the firm.

Ismar’s understanding of building and urban scales, passion for sustainable approaches, and dedication to inclusion, equity, and justice-based solutions are the heart of his education, civic and housing work. As a design lead and seasoned project manager, he brings those efforts in alignment with the firm’s values and mission-driven clients. Ismar also brings incredible service to a wide variety of professional organizations, ranging from the AIALA Board of Directors, AIA California, COTE, and others connecting with our mission of taking an active role in bringing thought leadership and advocacy to the broader LA community.
