Alverno Heights is set along the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains on the grounds of the historic Villa del Sol d’Oro, serving 200 students. The academic buildings on campus were constructed in the 1960s and face many common infrastructure issues of today, aging HVAC, lighting, IT technology, finishes, and furniture.
The upgrade of the library building has allowed the school to re-think how their students use libraries and advanced their educational opportunities in support of their growing STEM curriculum. The re-imagined space accommodates new teaching models for small group clusters, parliamentary, arena, and in-the-round, and is designed to encourage active learning and enhanced interactions.
The project included a complete systems, space, and furniture renovation that now provides the campus with flexible classroom spaces, vibrant study and social spaces, and a key space for large gatherings and student recruitment. The facility also includes office space for on-site technological and pedagogical support for faculty who utilize the teaching spaces.
